How Power Trolley Improved an Already Efficient Production System

Industrial production processes, no matter how automated, are not always the same (even if many people think so). The reality is that any process can be modified at any time and, above all, that it can be made more efficient with the introduction of new equipment.

Geicos' latest challenge concerned precisely this aspect: our experts tried to implement, in an already efficient situation, equipment that could further improve the production flow. In this case, the reference sector was industrial printing.

The Distributor's Needs

Our collaborator urgently needed to insert a mobile, streamlined and fast piece of equipment that could heat a specific detergent. The application had to be inserted into a specific phase of the production process of a client company. In this specific case, there had already been a relationship of extreme trust between the two parties for some time, so it was more necessary than ever to find an effective and definitive solution.

In short, expectations were very high and for this reason the distributor turned to Geicos, aware of the tailor-made method that has now become a trademark of our group.

A Thorny Process

Once all the customer's quality requirements had been studied in detail, we tried to understand how a possible new equipment could be implemented in the production process. Specifically, it was a multi-stage washing station: a very complex system that had to be thoroughly examined in terms of time, tools and methods of use.

It was necessary to identify its weak points and understand the best time to implement the new machine, which in the meantime was already taking shape in our ideas..

The extra filtering system

Having taken all the notes needed to develop the project, we developed the idea of what we wanted to build. Our partner and his client immediately understood the potential of what we had in mind and we quickly got the green light.

The washing product, as often happens, is water-based and heated. The novelty, however, lies in the fact that it is a machine in which an extra filtering system has been implemented. Not only, therefore, the standard stainless steel filters present in the bottom of the tank, but an additional 10 micron filtering system, useful for preventing certain parts of the manufacturing process from entering the washing system circulation. From these premises Power Trolley was born, specifically designed as an implementation of an already efficient production process but which, at the same time, had the potential to further improve.

Outcomes and future projects

The customer's response to the new machine was decidedly positive. We were told that the processing and subsequent washing process had seen a significant acceleration, something that is not usually seen in the industrial printing sector. Furthermore, seeing the quality gap decrease, the customer contacted our distributor again to purchase a second machine.

That's not all: in fact, they also discussed the creation of two other specific machines for a different type of process. In this regard, we have been called into question again and we are already considering the construction of new mechanisms with different optional features that we can't wait to tell you about.
